What is a "Police Liaison"?

Not all investigations can be handled on a "Civil" level. Some cases involve Criminal Activity. OK, why would I pay a private investigator when my taxes are paying for my Police investigation for free? Good question, because "if it's free it's for me." I will try to explain to the best of my ability.

Let's be hypothetical:
"I am having numerous 'hang up" telephone calls and the Police do not seem interested in pursuing this case." Depending on the Police Department involved there are several reasons why the Detectives do not seem interested. First and foremost, most Police Detective Squads are assigned an overwhelming case load. The time the Detectives have at work must be divided among the cases they receive. Most of the time and for good reason, the more "serious" cases receive the attention. The less serious cases seem to fade away and disappear. But, if you are the one receiving these telephone calls, this case is VERY SERIOUS to you. In the scheme of things however, in the outside world, it is just not a serious crime.

At DiVinci Investigational Services, we will take that case from you; not away from the Police, but in addition to. With DiVinci's extensive Law Enforcement background we would prepare a case and develop "Probable Cause" (which is the level of proof the Police need to make an arrest in New York State.) We would either give you, the client, a fully prepared package to take into any Precinct that would immediately give the Police authority to make an arrest. Or we, DiVinci Investigational Services, would deliver the package to the appropriate Police Precinct and sit down with Detectives in furtherance of making an arrest. If the Police were still not interested, DiVinci Investigational Services would take that same "fully prepared" package to the appropriate District Attorney's Office for prosecution.
